OUR LOGO

Where the little peoples arrows flow

The BioNorth Energy logo was created by Nak’azdli Whut’en member Jolene Prince and weaves together several elements to tell a rich story of nature, history and relationships.

OUR PEOPLE

Empowering our community and people

This facility employees approximately 30 individuals. From power engineers, millwrights, electricians and instrumentation technicians to mobile equipment operators, administrators and supervisors, these people are the heart of the BioNorth Energy project.

CLEAN ENERGY

Replacing greenhouse gases with clean energy.

34,000 cars

Grinding 200,000m3 of fibre annually provides 162,000 tonnes of net carbon benefits and is equivalent to removing 34,000 cars from the road.

70,000 homes

Producing 40,000 units (kWh) in an hour, this 40-mega-watt facility generates enough power to operate 70,000 single family homes in Northern BC.

Power the North

BC Hydro buys the energy produced from this facility and distributes it across Northern BC to larger cities like Vanderhoof.
